Community Schools Collaboration (CSC) is a non-profit organization that is housed within public schools in SeaTac, White Center and Tukwila.  CSC focuses on academics, health & social services, youth & community development & community engagement as a way to improve student learning, build stronger families and healthier communities.

CSC uses public schools (like Tyee Educational Complex), to bring together many partners to offer a range of support and opportunities to children, youth, families and communities.

Some of our basic components are:

  • Academic Assistance (Homework Help Center: after-school)
  • Enrichment Actitivites (After-school classes/clubs/groups)
  • Recreation (After-school activities, such as the Tyee World Cup)
  • Community Engagement & Empowerment (such as SeaTac’s Somali Liaison and Latina Liaison)
  • Health Coordination & Services (Peer Health Council)

2009-2010 S.P.E.A.K.

27 05 2010

S.P.E.A.K. (Speaking Poetically with Emphasis, Artistry, and Knowledge), is a spoken word movement on Tyee’s campus. S.P.E.A.K. is an after-school program that runs on Mondays from 3:30-5Pm in Tyee’s building 500. Students from different walks of life have allowed S.P.E.A.K. to thrive over the years. Talented youth continue to shape words into beautiful art pieces. The thoughts and ideas that have powered these young minds have filled the hearts of many in the classroom and community. This generation has created something powerful and will continue to do so for years to come.
